SEWDA JOINS NATIONWIDE CLEAN-UP EXERCISE TO MARK NATIONAL SANITATION DAY

The Sene West District Assembly actively participated in the National Sanitation Day with a massive clean-up exercise across key communities in the district.

The exercise brought together the District Chief Executive (DCE), Assembly Members, heads of departments, staff of the Assembly, traditional leaders, police service, immigration service, fire service youth groups, and community members, all united by a shared goal — to promote cleanliness and protect public health.

Participants cleared choked gutters, swept streets, desilted drains, and removed refuse from public spaces to improve sanitation conditions within the district. The initiative forms part of the national effort to instill a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among citizens.

Speaking during the exercise, the Hon. Khaari Fuseini emphasized that sanitation is a shared responsibility and urged residents to maintain cleanliness not only on designated clean-up days but as a daily habit. He noted that good sanitation helps prevent disease outbreaks and creates a healthier and more attractive environment for everyone.

Community members expressed their commitment to supporting the Assembly’s efforts and called for continued collaboration to sustain the gains made.

The Sene West District Assembly reaffirmed its dedication to promoting environmental cleanliness and encouraged all residents to play their part in keeping the district clean and safe.
