This year’s 6th March Independence Day celebration in the Sene West District took a unique and refreshing turn from the traditional march past commonly held among schools.
Instead of the usual parade, the district organized a series of sporting activities involving selected schools within Kwame Danso. The event brought together pupils and students who participated in various games, promoting teamwork, physical fitness, and unity among the youth.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Khaari Fuseini, oversaw the successful organization of the celebration. He commended stakeholders for embracing the new approach, noting that sports serve as an effective platform for nurturing talent and fostering discipline among young people.
The event was attended by staff of the Sene West District Assembly, officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES), and members of the community, all of whom contributed to making the celebration vibrant and memorable.
The shift to sporting activities highlighted the district’s commitment to innovation in commemorating national events while encouraging active student participation beyond the classroom.
