LEAP Beneficiaries Receive Cash Transfers During 89th Cycle with 100% Increment

From 8 to 12 July 2024, beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program in Sene West District gathered to receive their cash transfers as part of the program’s 89th disbursement cycle. Conducted by the Social Welfare Department in partnership with Amantin and Kasei Rural Bank, the exercise covered all LEAP beneficiary communities in the district, providing vital financial support to eligible low-income households.

Notably, this cycle included a 100% increase in cash transfer amounts, a significant boost aimed at enhancing the financial resilience of vulnerable families. The increment comes as a welcome relief for beneficiaries, many of whom rely on LEAP support to meet basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education. Lines formed early each day at the designated collection points, with community members expressing appreciation for the expanded assistance.

Representatives from the Social Welfare Department reiterated their commitment to ensuring smooth and efficient disbursements. The exercise, which was completed successfully, demonstrated the district’s dedication to improving the well-being of its most vulnerable residents
