GSS Trains District Officers On Administrative Data Compilation.

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has conducted a two-day training program for district officers in the Sene West District, with a focus on enhancing administrative data compilation and utilization skills. The training aimed to equip participants with practical abilities in collecting, validating, analyzing, and reporting administrative data. It underscored the importance of accurate data for evidence-based decision-making and emphasized applications in various sectors. Quality assurance and collaboration among officers were key components. The initiative, supported by GSS Representative Owusu Frimpong Peter, is expected to foster data-driven development in the district.

The training involved 14 participants and 3 facilitators. in attendance was; The District Coordinating Director, Development Planning Officer, District Statistician and Assistant Statistician, District Budget Officer, GHS, Biostatistician, GES, MIS officer, Dept of Agric, MIS Officer, District Environmental Health Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Business Advisory Center Manager, Community Water and Sanitation Agency, officer in charge of data, Northern Electricity Distribution Company, officer in charge of data and Police Service, officer in charge of data.

The training was highly informative and practical, enlightening participants about metadata importance, key indicator measurement, and data inconsistency handling. The donation of a laptop to the Sene West District Statistics Department aligns with GSS’s aim to institutionalize administrative data use at the MMDA level.
