Green Ghana Day has now been acknowledged an annual occasion to be commemorated by Ghanaians on June 11, in safeguarding the country’s forest cover and the environment at large is protected
The activity is carried out to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG, 15) and other Global commitments relating to the restoration of degraded landscapes.
This year’s green day was set aside to plant eleven million trees across the country. In light of this, the Sene West District Forestry commission collaborated with Department of Agriculture to mobilized farmer groups, individual farmers and institutions for the tree planting exercise.
