GHANA’S 66TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT SENE WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Sene West District on Monday 6th of March 2023, celebrated Ghana’s 66th Independence Day Anniversary in a colorful ceremony in the district capital, Kwame Danso. The celebration was attended by hundreds of natives and dignitaries within the district, who gathered at Kwame Danso R/C School Park to witness the historic event.

The celebrations kicked off with a parade from some selected Basic Schools children and the Senior High School Cadet Corps in the district, and other groups. The District Chief Executive, Hon. John Nyarba together with other dignitaries inspected the parade, as the school’s band played in the background.

Speaking on the theme” Our unity, Our strength, Our purpose” the DCE, Hon. John Nyarba entreated all gathered to be united and work together as one people in order to make our district and country great and strong. He also stated that in order to ensure optimum growth, there should be a strong collaboration between everyone across the political divide to promote a stronger democracy, inclusive governance and the socio-economic aspiration of all.

The DCE highlighted some of the achievements made by the district under his tenure, including infrastructure, social interventions and others. He also spoke about the government’s efforts to provide affordable healthcare Ghana.

The Independence Day celebrations were marked by various cultural performances, including traditional dances and music. The atmosphere was one of joy and pride as natives celebrated their traditional’ s rich cultural heritage and the progress made over the years.

In conclusion citation and a cash prize award were given to the Best Performed School and the Best Performed Student in the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The celebrations ended with a competitive football tournament among government departments and agencies with the district. Ghana Education Service emerged winners at the end of the competition.
