A total of forty-eight Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in the Sene West District have received support packages from the Sene West District Assembly as part of efforts to improve their livelihoods and promote social inclusion.
The support initiative, spearheaded by the Hon. Khaari Fuseini – DCE and the Social Welfare and Community Development Office of the Assembly, provided beneficiaries with a range of items including cash assistance, refrigerators, and other essential equipment to help strengthen their economic activities and enhance their standard of living.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Khaari Fuseini reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to empowering vulnerable groups within the district. He noted that supporting persons with disabilities remains a key priority in promoting inclusive development and reducing poverty at the community level.
According to him, the intervention is expected to enable beneficiaries to engage in income-generating activities while also easing some of the financial burdens they face in their daily lives.
The Social Welfare and Community Development Office, which coordinated the activity, emphasized that the programme forms part of ongoing efforts to provide targeted assistance to persons with disabilities, ensuring they are not left behind in the district’s development agenda.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the timely support, describing it as a significant boost to their livelihoods and a source of renewed hope for improved economic independence.
